Job Description What is a Retail Parts Pro?
Professional level sales position capable of supporting advanced functions of the DIY business. The role requires expert knowledge of store systems, advanced automotive system knowledge, and part knowledge. Responsibilities include advanced identification, troubleshooting, and project assistance for DIY customers. The role involves sourcing from various channels including special order, FDO, second source, etc., and maintaining in-depth knowledge of store inventory and processes. This is a full-time position.
Primary Responsibilities
Provide GAS2 selling experience for DIY customer visits and phone calls
Achieve personal and store sales goals and service objectives
Manage DIY services including battery installation, testing, wiper installs, etc.
Ensure high standards of customer service and store appearance
Key holder responsibilities including task assignment, safety, and opening/closing duties
Secondary Responsibilities
Assist in inventory processes such as truck put away, shoot outs, cycle counts, back stock, etc.
Maintain store cleanliness including floors, bathrooms, facing, dusting, parking lot
Provide DIY services including battery installation, testing, wiper installs, etc.

Ability to locate and stock parts efficiently
Safety knowledge and skills
Proficiency with inventory systems and store equipment
Parts and automotive system knowledge
Operating POS and parts lookup systems
Expertise with testing and diagnostic equipment for DIY services
ASE P2 certification or equivalent
Advanced solution, project, and product recommendation skills
Advanced parts lookup and sourcing abilities
Strong DIY selling skills
Essential Job Skills
Knowledge of automotive systems and diagnostics (engine, suspension, brakes, electronic, exhaust, etc.)
Effective communication in English (Spanish a plus)
Ability to interpret safety rules, manuals, parts catalogs, and procedures
Basic math skills and proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel)
Strong organizational skills
Flexibility to work days, evenings, and weekends as needed
Prior Experience 3-5 years of automotive parts experience and proven sales ability in customer transactions.
Education & Certifications Must have a valid driver’s license. ASE certification preferred but not required.
Physical Demands Standard physical requirements for retail roles.
Compensation Range $18.15 - $19.96 per hour
