Overview

Regional Sales Manager role focused on achieving sales quotas and account profitability goals. This position involves traveling within an assigned territory to call on existing and prospective customers to promote products and solicit orders. The role reports to the National Sales Manager. The ideal candidate will have strong relationships with customers, effective communication and analytical skills, problem-solving ability, and a detail-oriented approach to turning data into action. Regional Sales Manager Corporate Account Management: Develops and implements strategies to maintain and expand sales within an assigned territory. Build trusted relationships with key account purchasing teams (seasonal and everyday, including planners) and distributor sales teams supporting retail purchasing teams. Lead and develop collaborative processes with internal stakeholders including demand planning, purchasing, logistics, and finance in support of accounts in territory. Build internal consumption and revenue forecasts. Analyze sales data to identify strategies and opportunities, including marketing efficiency (point-of-sale data from customer portals and IRI). Prepare plans for each account to meet short and long-term needs. Forecast product demand within the territory. Interface with customers to understand objectives and requirements. Maintain regular contact to discuss new products and services and obtain feedback. Provide value-added service by sharing details of additional offerings. Serve as a point of escalation for issues related to product sales and expedite resolution of customer problems/complaints. Prepare and conduct product presentations and demonstrations. Participate in trade shows and provide feedback to marketing/product development for future enhancements. Share customer needs across all phases of the product life cycle. Attend departmental sales meetings to discuss status, prospects, and future client needs. Regional Sales Manager — Sales: Compile lists of prospective customers, visit them to develop new business accounts, and drive sustained revenue growth. Manage delivery timing, provide prompt service, and support customers with emergency orders. Demonstrate products at customer sites and assist with in-store merchandising and displays. Handle inquiries by phone, fax, and email; investigate and resolve issues. Establish professional customer/vendor relationships. Regional Sales Manager — Administrative Duties: Assist with trade show setups, prepare shipments of equipment and materials, and submit periodic reports (weekly activity, tradeshow, business trips, expense, meeting, etc.). Maintain Salesforce records and customer profiles; update account details and marketing program information. Review customer deductions and coordinate with accounting on claims; place disputes as needed and assist with payments. Regional Sales Manager — Supervisory Responsibilities: Provide day-to-day guidance to broker team members and liaise between team members and management. Monitor performance, provide feedback, identify training opportunities, and ensure timelines and performance expectations are met. Identify sales training needs and develop ROI-based action plans for the territory. Regional Sales Manager — Other & Miscellaneous: Seek continuous improvement in processes, perform special projects as assigned, maintain high ethical standards, report irregular issues, and maintain good communication with managers, staff, and outside contacts.
