Builders FirstSource, America’s largest supplier of building materials, is seeking a Safety Coordinator for its Phoenix, AZ facility. This role is on-site and offers a competitive salary of $80,000 – $85,000. Purpose
Responsible for the coordination and management of safety programs to reduce occupational hazards and improve fleet safety at a single location. Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Develop and support a site‑specific Safety Management Plan (SMP) with ongoing development, monthly audits, and communication of SMP scores. Ensure thorough accident investigations and report findings within timeframes. Develop and assign corrective action plans to prevent future accidents. Work with Human Resources to administer corrective action when safety policies and procedures are violated. Coordinate safety initiatives including employee involvement, recordkeeping, hazard identification and control, incident investigation, medical management, education, and training. Assemble and issue required OSHA records. Address health and environmental issues in accordance with governmental regulations and company policy. Compile and analyze data on occupational and environmental health issues such as chemical exposure, radiation, smoke, fumes, noise, temperatures, dusts, vapors, mists, gases, solvents, lighting, and ergonomics. Maintain hazardous material communications and material safety data sheets. Oversee fleet safety programs with supervisory personnel and the fleet management office. Facilitate training on health, environmental compliance, and safety issues. Supervisory Responsibilities
This position has no supervisory responsibilities. Minimum Education Required
High School/GED. Additional Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent plus 2–3 years related experience preferred. Experience with safety management procedures and policies may substitute for formal education. Working knowledge of safety codes, OSHA, EPA, hazardous materials, emergency preparedness, and fleet safety. Competencies
