Teaches Drafting courses at a variety of times and locations Creates engaging lessons that promote student involvement and application of the material Submits required college reports and forms in a timely manner Utilizes a course syllabus for each course, following established institutional guidelines Meets with and advises students before/after class or by appointment, via electronic communication or other appropriate methods Evaluates students to measure progress toward course objectives and informs students of progress in a timely manner Maintains professional relationships with students, colleagues, and the community Attends meetings, trainings, and orientations as required Responsible for other reasonable, related duties as assigned Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Mastery of course content Demonstrated leadership with collaborative, teamwork, and facilitation style Excellent oral and written communication and interpersonal skills Ability to appreciate alternate viewpoints and work effectively with a wide variety of people Interest in interdisciplinary teaching, service learning, learning technologies, course development, and adult learning methodologies including collaborative learning and distance learning Commitment to academic excellence and providing a dynamic climate for lifelong learning Ability to develop instructional approaches such as service learning, learning communities, and effective use of technology Ability to engage students with effective strategies Qualifications
Required Qualifications: Associate's degree in engineering graphics, drafting technology or computer-aided design with a minimum of 3 years of field experience OR Bachelor's degree in engineering, engineering technology or architecture with a minimum of 3 years of field experience Work Schedule, Conditions, and Physical Abilities
Work is conducted in a climate-controlled classroom and/or lab with typical safety considerations. Schedule varies by class time; instructors are expected to meet all scheduled classes and be available to students outside of instruction. Equipment: PC workstation, standard office equipment, and discipline-specific equipment Interface with internal and external contacts as needed Potential physical activities include standing, walking, bending, and lifting of moderately heavy items as needed Compensation and Benefits
