Role Overview Gersh Autism Academy has served students on the autism spectrum for over 30 years. Our K‑12 schools provide personalized education and comprehensive therapeutic services—speech, physical, occupational therapy, and vocational training—across the U.S. and Puerto Rico. We collaborate with families to support academic, social, and emotional growth, preparing students for success beyond the classroom.
Responsibilities
Provide high‑quality ABA services by implementing individualized treatment programs designed by Board Certified Behavior Analysts (BCBAs).
Participate in parent education groups and classroom support to improve family quality of life.
Assist classroom teachers in implementing IEPs and behavior intervention plans (BIPs) for students with autism.
Offer one‑on‑one and small‑group support to encourage academic, social, and behavioral growth.
Help students with daily tasks, communication, social interaction, and self‑management skills.
Support students during classroom activities, field trips, and other school‑related events.
Implement strategies from students’ behavior intervention plans to encourage self‑regulation.
Collect and document data on student performance, behavior, and progress toward goals.
Collaborate with teaching teams and behavioral specialists to create a structured learning environment.
Communicate effectively with teachers and staff regarding student progress and challenges.
Participate in daily training sessions with behavioral analysts to grow in the field.
Qualifications
Washington State CBT license required.
Minimum of 12 hours of college credit in ABA, psychology, education, or related field preferred.
Bachelor’s degree strongly preferred.
CPR/First Aid/BLS certification preferred.
Physical Requirements
Must be able to keep students safe and implement CPI procedures.
Must be able to lift a child and remove oneself from potentially harmful situations.
Must be able to lift 35+ pounds.
Growth Opportunities
After completing the RBT course and certification, CBTs can take on additional responsibilities, contribute to behavior intervention strategies, and pursue future leadership roles within the Gersh Autism network.

Occasional before‑and‑after school work hours as needed.
12‑month school program in a classroom setting.
