Company Overview American Family Care (AFC) is one of the largest primary and urgent care companies in the U.S., providing services seven days a week on a walk-in basis. Our state-of-the-art centers focus on episodic treatment of acute illnesses and injuries, workers' compensation, and occupational medicine. Each location is equipped with an onsite lab and in-house x-ray capability. AFC is the parent company of AFC Franchising, LLC (AFCF). This position works directly with a franchised business location. Specific job duties and benefits may vary between franchises. Job Summary The Advanced Practice Provider (APP) cares for patients within their scope of training and approved agreements, as outlined by their governing board. The APP works collaboratively with other providers and staff to ensure efficient patient flow and high patient satisfaction. Responsibilities Perform detailed health histories, review patient records, develop comprehensive medical assessments, and order laboratory, radiological, and diagnostic studies appropriate for the patient's complaint, race, sex, and physical condition. Formulate medical and nursing diagnoses and initiate therapy or referrals to appropriate healthcare facilities, agencies, and community resources. Institute emergency measures and treatment or stabilization in situations such as cardiac arrest, shock, hemorrhage, convulsions, poisoning, and allergic reactions. Interpret and analyze patient data to determine patient status and management. Provide instructions and guidance on healthcare and health promotion to patients and families. Monitor therapies and ensure continuity of care. Perform other duties as assigned. Qualifications Excellent communication skills with staff, patients, and families. Professional appearance and attitude. ANCC, AANP, or NCCPA Board Certification (1+ year ER/UC experience preferred outside of clinical rotations). Active and current Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner licensure in the state of practice, including DEA number and state-controlled substance certificate, as required. DOT Certification preferred. Qualified to treat patients aged 2 and up. Minimum of one year of experience in Family Medicine and/or Primary Care Medicine preferred. Prior outpatient or urgent care experience preferred. Ability to multitask and work independently alongside experienced physicians.
