Full Time Assistant Store Manager (Store 7751) at GameStop. Working with minimal supervision, the Assistant Store Manager supports the Store Manager in all facets of store operations and helps develop a sales culture by providing outstanding guest service experiences. Responsibilities
Provide best-in-class guest service: greet guests, respond to questions/concerns quickly and courteously, assist with gaming needs, inform guests of promotions, recommend items, and circulate throughout the store to prioritize guests over tasks. Support the total shopping environment, including visual and operational elements and current sales initiatives to drive sales and repeat business. Process guest purchases/returns accurately using the POS system, handle changes, provide receipts, and ensure top-notch guest service. Respond to guest questions in person or by phone; escalate issues to the Store Manager as needed. Promote GameStop guest benefits (new title reservations, trade-in program, Pro Rewards). Assist the Store Manager with setting guest service expectations and training store associates on policies and procedures. Observe associate performance, provide feedback, and address unsatisfactory performance as directed; align with company and store expectations. Provide recognition and feedback to associates; document feedback in the HR system in partnership with the Store Manager. Ensure onboarding, training, and compliance is completed prior to opening/closing shifts; ensure knowledge of policies, inventory control, loss prevention, safety, and ethics. Schedule store associates following guidelines; supervise staffing for optimum guest service and adherence to schedule requirements. Approve payroll, manage PTO, and verify pay for time worked. Keep store areas clean, organized, and merchandised per guidelines; ensure fixtures and equipment are in proper working order. Fulfill Omni-Channel orders daily. Protect assets through inventory control and loss prevention; conduct closing checks and communicate concerns to the Store Manager. Support the team in meeting sales, profit, and shrink goals and complete administrative duties. Conduct inventory counts, stock/restock merchandise, and ensure product representation and organization on the sales floor. Reconcile daily transactions in the POS system; complete closeout paperwork and bank deposits per guidelines. Verify shipments for discrepancies; conduct merchandise counts and report discrepancies to the Store Manager/District Manager. Process defectives/recalls and stock pulls promptly with proper labeling and packing lists. Maintain associate and guest safety; address hazards and report injuries per guidelines. Keep store records/files organized and ensure manuals are up to date. Supervise and delegate tasks to Sales Associates and Retail Keyholders in the absence of the Store Manager. Adhere to all GameStop policies, including the Associate Handbook and Code of Standards, Ethics & Conduct. Adhere to opening and closing procedures. Qualifications
Must provide proof of identity and eligibility to work in the United States. Must be at least 18 years old. High school diploma or equivalent required; degree in business/marketing/merchandising preferred. 6+ months of retail management experience preferred. 2+ years of retail sales, guest service, and/or management experience preferred. Video game knowledge preferred. Key Skills
Outgoing, welcoming personality with strong people skills. Provide genuine, individualized guest assistance; strong verbal and written communication; English; bilingual English/Spanish preferred. Ability to perform in a fast-paced environment; work independently and in a team; meet performance expectations; operate POS; basic math and organizational skills. Flexible schedule including nights, weekends, and some holidays (minimum 3 days/week). Reliable, trustworthy, uses good judgment; able to work for extended periods and perform physical tasks (standing, walking, lifting up to 30 lbs, etc.). Pay
