As an Intermediate & Advanced Gymnastics Coach, you’ll be the mentor who blends skill mastery with encouragement, creating a training environment where athletes thrive. Your leadership will help kids discover just how far they can go — in the gym and beyond.

Key Responsibilities

Instruct weekly gymnastics classes for intermediate and advanced recreational athletes.

Provide technical corrections, advanced spotting, and age‑appropriate challenges to promote progression.

Balance a fun and engaging atmosphere with discipline, structure, and focus on long‑term development.

Create a welcoming and supportive class environment aligned with Dominique Dawes Academy’s philosophy of holistic child development.

Maintain safety at all times by applying proper progressions, spotting, and injury‑prevention techniques.

Monitor athletes closely and respond promptly to safety concerns following academy protocols.

Positively engage with parents before and after classes to provide feedback and build community.

Collaborate with teammates and management to ensure smooth class transitions and program consistency.

Maintain a clean and organized training space and assist with setup/takedown of equipment.

Attend required staff training sessions, team meetings, and seasonal evaluations.

Represent the academy’s values of respect, teamwork, and excellence in all interactions.

Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

Minimum age: 16 years old.

Proven background in gymnastics (intermediate/advanced level experience required).

Experience coaching or working with children in athletic/recreational settings (preferred).

Ability to spot and demonstrate advanced gymnastics skills safely.

CPR and First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain) preferred.

Work Schedule & Environment

Afternoon/evening weekday shifts and weekend morning shifts required.

Indoor gym environment with frequent interaction with children and families.

Must be available for consistent weekly scheduling during the school year.

Physical Requirements

Ability to demonstrate physical skills and actively engage with students.

Frequent standing, walking, kneeling, spotting, lifting, and moving equipment.

Must be able to safely spot intermediate and advanced‑level gymnastics skills.

Ability to lift and move up to 25 lbs. in a fast‑paced, physically active environment.
