Onsite Interpreters
in the
New York, NY
area who are passionate about using their language skills to help people. Contract Responsibilities: Provides consecutive in-person and virtual first-person interpretation both by phone and video remote Follows interpreter protocols and procedures as required by Propio L.S. clients Follows all Propio L.S. policies and procedures related to information confidentiality and interpreter ethics Maintains strict patient confidentiality in accordance with HIPAA, FERPA, GLBA and regulatory requirements Establishes and maintains quality service and positive interaction with all patients, customers, visitors, health care providers, and clinical employees Continuously improves vocabulary and subject matter knowledge for various clients (medical, legal, social services, etc.) Requirements: Submission of updated Resume in English at time of application Must be at least 18 years of age High school diploma or GED equivalent Intermediate level computer skills Access to reliable transportation Ability to provide documentation of updated vaccinations as required by location and policies (e.g., TB, MMR, Varicella, Hep B or declination, TDAP, Seasonal Flu, and Covid) Successful completion of a drug test and Background Check & Security Screen A signed commitment to confidentiality, ethics, and HIPAA compliance 1+ years of interpreting experience Propio’s evaluation process conforms to interpreting standards defined by: National Council on Interpreting in Health Care (NCIHC) International Medical Interpreters Association (IMIA) California Healthcare Interpreters Association (CHIA) Diversity creates a healthier atmosphere: Propio is an Equal Employment Opportunity/Affirmative Action employer and all qualified applicants will receive consideration for employment without regard to race, color, religion, sex, age, national origin, protected veteran status, disability status, sexual orientation, gender identity or expression, marital status, genetic information, or any other characteristic protected by law.
