2025-2026 HS Marching Band Director
Description: Under the general supervision of the School Principal, plan and organize instruction to maximize student learning. Employ appropriate teaching strategies to meet diverse student needs. The director, assistant directors, percussion instructor, and colorguard instructor will be responsible for designing, teaching, and executing the show for the marching season. Candidates must demonstrate knowledge of marching band instruction, including drill writing, drill teaching, music arranging, marching techniques, and percussion instruction. Attendance at all scheduled football games is mandatory. Additional spring rehearsals may be necessary for community events, including parades. The band is expected to perform a field show at all home football games, pep rallies, community events, and playoff games. Rehearsals will take place from August 18 to August 21 (9:00 am to 1:00 pm) and August 25 to August 28 (9:00 am to 5:00 pm). Rehearsals will continue through the school year from September to November, with days and times to be determined by the director. The winter season runs from January to April, with schedule details to be determined. Essential Functions: Design, write, and arrange shows suitable for instrumentation. Collaborate with consultants and volunteers to ensure high-quality instruction. Communicate effectively with all stakeholders to prepare students for performances. Perform at designated school and community events. Rehearse students for field shows, parade marching, and pep activities. Assess student progress and adapt instruction to meet individual needs, including students with special needs. Complete all necessary paperwork, including permission slips and transportation forms. Obtain quotes for materials and music required for success. Create and share a performance and rehearsal calendar with students, parents, and staff. Engage in ongoing professional development related to marching band instruction. Maintain accurate records of student achievement, attendance, and activities. Encourage parental involvement and maintain effective communication. Ensure student conduct aligns with school standards and policies. Select and requisition instructional aids, supplies, and equipment, maintaining inventory records. Stipend:
