Overview
Instructor of Criminal Justice - Adjunct Pool at McHenry County College. This pool is used to hire adjunct instructors for Criminal Justice courses. Workweek is schedule dependent upon assigned classes; salaries are dependent upon education and semesters taught at MCC per the MCC Adjunct Faculty Agreement 24/25. Responsibilities
Teach the assigned class in accordance with the learning objectives and Concourse syllabus using instructional strategies to engage students Develop and manage working syllabus, course materials, and assignments Provide feedback and evaluate students’ performance throughout the learning process, including being available for student conferences either before or after class, and by College email if necessary Maintain and submit class syllabus, grades and attendance records, and required course-related data Use educational technology (i.e. course management platform such as Canvas) Assess student learning and submit required reports of assessment results Maintain currency in the professional field Work cooperatively within the department, the division, and throughout the College in striving for educational excellence Qualifications
Course specific minimum qualifications are approved annually by the Board of Trustees and are available in all Academic Division Offices Demonstrated teaching experience is preferred Commitment to the mission of the community college, and to teaching and motivating community college students in ways appropriate to diverse backgrounds Strong communication, organization, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills Equal Employment Opportunity
