Overview
The Server (Dining Room Care Manager) is responsible for providing dining and table services to residents in the community’s dining rooms and designated areas in accordance with Sunrise Senior Living standards. The Server (Dining Room Care Manager) serves as a role model in providing dining service and assisting training care managers, maintaining proper dining room setup, assisting in special events, monitoring checklists in support of dining area cleanliness and readiness standards, and assisting in tabletop inventories maintenance. Responsible for handling all food and beverages in accordance with sanitary procedures and complies with all federal, state/provincial, and local regulatory procedures regarding food service. General Dining Service Provide support in the day-to-day operations of the dining room while maintaining a high quality, positive, and safe physical and social environment for residents and fellow team members. Provide dining service training to new care managers. Maintain knowledge of Daily and Always Available Menu items and provide general descriptions to residents. Assist residents with menu selections and respond to questions about menu items. Take meal and beverage orders and serve items according to established guidelines. Respond to the dining needs of residents while maintaining Sunrise hospitality and service standards. Attend pre-meal briefing to gain knowledge of the meal and meal support activities. Follow all local, state/provincial, and federal policies regarding food handling. Maintain standards of cleanliness, hygiene, and health standards. General Dining Room Perform dining room checklist inspections for cleanliness and readiness and adjust as needed to maintain quality standards. Maintain side work duties as assigned. Keep tables and surrounding areas clean, presentable, and ready. Set up and re-set tables in accordance with dining room procedures. Support dining room decorum and etiquette standards. Open and close checklist criteria. Assist in tabletop inventories maintenance. Resident Services Review, read, notate, and initial the Daily Log to document pertinent information. Review Resident Diet Book-TSD or confidential chart. Maintain and protect the confidentiality of resident information. Food Safety and Sanitation Practice safe food handling at all times to prevent foodborne illness. Complete daily, weekly, and monthly cleaning assignments. Maintain work areas in a healthy and safe condition. Assist in dining room and surrounding areas for proper directional flow, organization, and supplies placement. Risk Management and General Safety Partner with the community team to ensure compliance with national/provincial regulations pertaining to occupational health and safety requirements, promoting Risk Management programs and policies and adhering to safety rules and regulations. Practice safety procedures including PPE, fire extinguishers, SDS, and Lockout Tagout procedures. Training and Team Success Participate actively as a member of a team and work toward team goals. Demonstrate our Team Member Credo in daily interactions. Commit to serving residents and guests through our Principles of Service. Contribute to engagement programs and processes. Attend regular meetings as directed by the Supervisor/Department Coordinator. Maintain compliance in required training and any training required by authorities. Perform other duties as assigned.
