Cook- Clairemont (FT) – Novellus Living
Cook is responsible for preparing and serving food to residents, maintaining food quality and sanitation, and participating in all dining services as directed.
Work Schedule / Shift Monday - Thursday, 10:30am-6:30pm
Compensation Starting at $17.25/hour
What You'll Do
Prepare meals and snacks that are consistently tasteful, nutritious, and appealing to residents and guests.
Maintain a sanitary, orderly, and safe kitchen and dining environment.
Assist with menu planning, reviewing, and adjusting menus with Supervisor to accommodate seasonal foods, special events, and holidays.
Alter or adapt meals to accommodate residents with special dietary needs.
Help with ordering, delivery, and inventory of food, supplies, and equipment, as directed.
Ensure proper handling, labeling, and storage of food for infection control.
Notify Supervisor of equipment or appliance malfunctions.
Recognize improvement opportunities and contribute to a constructive team environment.
Multi-task effectively and stay flexible in a fast-paced, service-oriented setting.
Develop constructive relationships with co-workers, residents, and families.
Comply with State and Federal food handling and safety regulations.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements & Qualifications
High school or vocational school coursework in kitchen basics, such as food safety (preferred).
One year of related experience (preferred).
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Basic understanding of sanitation and regulations for workplace safety, with ability to learn more.
Basic understanding of food handling techniques, preparation, and cooking procedures, with ability to learn more.
Ability to work quickly and efficiently and to function well as part of a team.
Ability to maintain personal cleanliness.

Stand for long periods of time.
Lift up to 15 pounds as needed.
