American Family Care (AFC) is one of the largest primary and urgent care companies in the U.S., providing services seven days a week on a walk-in basis. Our centers focus on episodic treatment of acute illnesses and injuries, workers' compensation, and occupational medicine. Each location is equipped with an onsite lab and in-house x-ray capability. This position works directly with a franchised business location; specific duties and benefits can vary between franchises. Job Summary
The Advanced Practice Provider (APP) cares for patients within the scope of training and approved agreement, as outlined by governing board. Works collaboratively with other providers and staff to ensure efficient patient flow and high patient satisfaction. Responsibilities
Perform complete, detailed health histories; review patient records; develop comprehensive medical assessments; and order laboratory, radiological and diagnostic studies appropriate for the patient’s condition. Formulate medical and nursing diagnoses and institute therapy or referrals to appropriate facilities, agencies, and community resources. Institute emergency measures and stabilization in emergencies (e.g., cardiac arrest, shock, hemorrhage, poisoning, allergic reactions). Interpret and analyze patient data to determine status, management, and treatment. Provide instructions and guidance regarding health care and health promotion to patients and family. Other duties as assigned. Qualifications
Excellent communicator with staff, patients, and families. Professional appearance and attitude. ANCC, AANP, or NCCPA Board Certified (with 1 year ER/UC experience preferred outside clinical rotations). Active and current PA or NP license in state of practice, DEA number, and state-controlled substance certificate, as required. Able to multi-task and work independently. DOT Certification. Compensation: $65.00 - $75.00 per hour. Benefits
