Bachelor's Degree Required Related Experience
Some knowledge and interest in image processing software (e.g., Pix4D, QGIS, ARQIS). Previous experience processing imaging data from unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) is desired. Expertise with R or Python will be valued. Previous experience conducting agronomic field experiments is preferred but not required. Attention to detail. Required License/Registration/Certification

Standing, sitting, walking, bending, lifting. The ability to work outside in all conditions Shift

The Martin-Gatton College of Agriculture, Food and Environment department of Plant and Soil Sciences seeks a temporary Research Assistant to coordinate the implementation of research experiments focused on monitoring N balance and nutrient losses from grain crop rotations. Responsibilities include collecting field experimental data (measurement of nitrous oxide emissions, nitrogen leaching, and soil inorganic nitrogen), developing new methodologies and sampling protocols, and identifying research needs with plans to address them. The position will instruct and oversee undergraduate and graduate students collecting data, interact with other personnel at UK and collaborating institutions, develop lab protocols and implement data generation, processing, and storage protocols, and assist in data processing and sample analysis using appropriate software. Maintain laboratory equipment and summarize data in figures, tables, and project reports. Present results at national meetings. Skills / Knowledge / Abilities
Attention to detail. Previous experience in laboratory or data management. Supervisory Responsibilities
Yes Preferred Education/Experience
Excellent computer and Excel management skills, data processing and analysis, sample analysis, and use of laboratory equipment of any kind. Deadline to Apply
