Operational Diagnostics for High-Consequence Pathogens Postdoctoral Fellowship
The Department of Defense is offering a postdoctoral fellowship at the U.S. Army Medical Research and Development Command – Medical Research Institute of Infectious Diseases (USAMRDC MRIID).
Responsibilities
Conduct assay bridging, validation, and testing for the detection of high-consequence pathogens from OCONUS and internal projects.
Develop, validate, and use molecular assays such as real-time PCR and next-generation sequencing.
Analyze and interpret data under regulatory policies (CLIP/CLIA/GLP) and report results through presentations and manuscripts.
Validate a targeted next-generation sequencing assay for clinical use (LDT) and develop methods for assay manufacturing in-house or in a mobile setting under ISO conditions for clinical use.
Qualifications
PhD in Biology or related field within the past five years of the appointment start date.
Prior laboratory experience and skills in clinical diagnostics and regulatory laboratory experience (CLIP/CLIA/ISO) for high-consequence pathogens.
Experience with OCONUS sample testing, BSL-3 or BSL-4 laboratories, cell culture and viral/bacterial propagation.
BPRP enrollment and current certification required.
