Safety Specialist - Project Execution Location: Onsite (Los Angeles, CA) • Type: Full-Time • Salary Range: $101,000 - $108,000 NO PER DIEM. These are W2, long-term jobs with full benefits. NO relocation packages. Responsibilities

Conduct construction site safety audits to identify improper procedures and hazardous conditions on facilities, and recommend corrective actions. Monitor policies, procedures, programs, standards and design criteria affecting construction safety at multiple projects. Investigate complaints and on-site accidents to determine root causes and recommend effective hazard controls. Conduct noise, ventilation and gas testing at construction sites to determine if employees may be exposed to unhealthy conditions and make appropriate recommendations. Provide construction safety and standard reporting procedure training for Project Managers and on-site employees. Collect and analyze injury, claim and safety survey data; write technical reports and present findings to contractors and District management regarding contractor performance. Coordinate construction safety activities such as site safety audits and participate in pre-bid and post-award contract meetings as a member of the OCIP team. Review Injury Illness and Prevention Programs (IIPPs) submitted by contractors for accuracy and conformance with safety standards. Train, assign projects and tasks to lower-level personnel; review reports for completeness and accuracy. Perform other duties as assigned. Qualifications

Required Experience:

10 years of full-time paid professional construction safety management experience in developing and implementing accident prevention programs for a large private or public organization. Required Education:

Bachelor's degree in industrial or environmental engineering, Occupational Safety or Industrial Hygiene or closely related field OR Professional Safety Certification (or equivalent) OR two years of college with a Professional Safety Certification plus two years of relevant construction safety experience to compensate for education. OSHA 500 and 40-hour HAZPOWER completion is preferred. One of the Following Credentials is Preferred: Any Professional Safety Certification from the Board of Certified Safety Professionals (BCSP) Licensed Safety Professional (LSP) from the National Association of Safety Professionals (NASP) Certified Safety Manager (CSM) from NASP Certified Industrial Hygienist (CIH) from ABIH Please note, if you move forward in the submission process, you will be asked to provide the following: Most updated resume Certifications or Licenses obtained 3-4 professional references Project list with values, dates and company for projects worked Benefits
