Key Responsibilities

Instruct weekly gymnastics classes for preschool, beginner, and intermediate‑level athletes.

Create a welcoming and supportive class environment aligned with Dominique Dawes Academy's philosophy of holistic child development.

Follow class plans, skill progressions, and safety protocols provided by the academy’s leadership team.

Provide age‑appropriate instruction that challenges athletes while encouraging progress and fun.

Offer verbal and physical spotting and corrections to ensure skill development and safety.

Positively engage with parents before and after classes to provide feedback and build community.

Maintain a clean and organized training space and assist in setting up/taking down equipment as needed.

Monitor athletes closely and respond promptly to injuries or safety concerns, following gym protocols.

Collaborate with teammates and management to ensure smooth class transitions and rotations.

Attend required staff training sessions, team meetings, and seasonal evaluations.

Represent the academy’s values of respect, teamwork, and excellence in all interactions.

Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

Minimum age: 16 years old

Experience working with children in instructional, athletic, or recreational settings (preferred)

Background in gymnastics, cheer, dance, or another movement‑based discipline (preferred)

CPR and First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain) preferred

Work Schedule & Environment

Weekday afternoon/evening and weekend morning shifts available

Classes are held in an indoor gym environment with frequent interaction with children and families

Must be available for consistent weekly scheduling during the school year

Physical Requirements

Ability to demonstrate physical skills and actively engage with students

Frequent standing, walking, kneeling, lifting, and moving equipment

Must be able to spot athletes safely and provide physical assistance as needed

Ability to lift and move up to 25 lbs. and work in a physically active, fast‑paced environment
