Research Associate – Physiology & Cell Biology Research Associate – Physiology & Cell Biology

Responsibilities

Plan, design, execute, and manage research projects in a foundational biological/health science research laboratory.

Develop and implement goals and objectives of studies; design and execute complex laboratory experiments.

Perform advanced molecular and cellular techniques; collect, analyze, and interpret research data.

Assist with development and implementation of new and/or revised research methodologies and techniques; test experimental designs, sampling techniques, and analytical methods and make recommendations for utilization.

Establish controls, criteria, and research standards; perform critical analysis of literature relevant to research being undertaken.

Assist in the preparation of research papers and manuscripts for publication and presentation at national conferences and workshops; write project reports, articles, and other documents.

Assist the principal investigator in the preparation of proposals to obtain new or renewal of extramural funding in support of research.

Coordinate laboratory activities and work assignments of postdoctoral researchers, graduate and undergraduate students, and laboratory research staff.

Oversee and coordinate periodic maintenance and testing of laboratory equipment; perform additional duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s Level Degree or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Relevant experience required: 3 years with Associate’s Degree, or 1 year with Bachelor’s Degree.

Ability to translate, adapt, and apply academic and/or practical knowledge in the conduct of biological/health science research required.

Experience in a biological/health science research capacity preferred.
