We are seeking a Senior Counsel to lead on product, privacy, and AI matters. You’ll report to the General Counsel and collaborate with product, IT, security, procurement, and sales teams. This role focuses on earning trust with security-conscious organizations and helping OPSWAT scale responsibly across the business. What You Will Be Doing
Work closely with product, engineering and security teams to provide guidance on privacy, AI, intellectual property and open source across the product development lifecycle Collaborate with stakeholders to assess privacy and AI risks and develop governance policies and best practices Draft and maintain user-facing legal documents, including Terms of Service, Privacy Policies, DPAs, and related agreements Draft and negotiate commercial and intellectual property agreements affecting the company’s products and services Support the global compliance program and monitor evolving AI/privacy legislation (e.g., GDPR, CPRA, EU AI Act, NIST AI RMF) Develop internal playbooks and training to raise awareness of privacy and AI considerations What We Need From You
8+ years of experience (law firm and/or in-house), ideally in B2B SaaS or cybersecurity Familiarity with legal and regulatory frameworks relevant to AI products and systems, and general privacy regulations in SaaS (e.g., GDPR, CPRA, EU AI Act) Experience in reviewing and implementing global privacy compliance programs CIPP/CIPM certification is an advantage JD and active membership in at least one state bar Strong communication skills, business acumen, and a pragmatic mindset Ability to work under pressure and manage workloads to meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment Professional presence and ability to engage with senior stakeholders internally and externally Interest in growing into a broader leadership role within a scaling legal function Base Pay Range: San Francisco Bay Area – $220,000 to $280,000. In addition to base pay, the role is eligible for bonus, benefits, and equity. The company uses a market-based pay structure that varies by location and candidate qualifications.
