Brief Summary of Work for this Position The research assistant on this project will have three key roles. Their first responsibility will be strengthening community partnerships. This will entail attending community meetings such as the faith and food coalition meetings, as well as making connections with other community partners. They will take our preliminary findings and share them with our community partners. Second, they will work towards ensuring the sustainability and potential expansion of our project moving forward. This will be done by searching for additional funding opportunities and exploring other partnership opportunities. Third, they will help to disseminate the results of this research in both academic and non-academic contexts through presentations, academic journal articles, community facing reports, and more.

Minimum Education and Experience Requirements

Experience working in a research setting

Preferred Education, Knowledge, Skills & Experience

Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to represent the project effectively

Familiarity with public health, social science, or community development research methods.

Special Instructions to Applicants Please note, this is a temporary position. The length of the assignment will be based on department need with the possibility of continuation. Temporary assignments cannot exceed 11 consecutive months without a full 31-day break from employment. Temporary employees are not considered permanent state employees and do not earn leave.
