Job Summary

The EHS Technician is responsible for ensuring the safety and health of employees in the workplace. They will work to identify hazards and develop strategies to prevent accidents and injuries. The EHS Technician will also develop and implement safety training programs and perform inspections to ensure compliance with local, state, and federal regulations, and company policies.

Responsibilities

Develop and implement safety policies and procedures

Identify potential hazards and develop strategies to minimize risks

Conduct regular safety inspections and audits

Create and deliver safety training programs

Investigate accidents and injuries and develop reports with recommendations for improvement

Collaborate with management to develop and implement safe work practices

Maintain knowledge of local, state, and federal safety regulations

Communicate safety information to management and employees

Qualifications

High school diploma or equivalent

3+ years of experience

Experience developing and implementing EHS policies and procedures

Strong knowledge of local, state, and federal safety regulations

Excellent communication, organization, and problem-solving skills

Certified Safety Professional (CSP) or other safety-related certification preferred

Ability to work independently and make decisions in a fast-paced environment

Responsible for providing guidance, coaching, and training to other employees within team

Knowledge & Experience

Requires broad knowledge of operational systems and practices typically obtained through work experience or education

Requires a minimum of 5 years of experience. May require vocational or technical education
