School Bus Driver - No exp needed - Full training provided Location: 2201 Brownsville Rd., Mt Vernon, IL 62864 Durham School Services is hiring and offering starting pay rate: $22.66 per hour, with a potential range up to $27.00 per hour based on years of experience. A $3,500 sign-on bonus is available, paid in three installments. Training is provided prior to assuming responsibilities. Responsibilities
Provides safe and reliable transportation service by operating a school bus or other location-specific vehicle with a fixed or changing route. Exhibits high ethical standards and personal integrity; communicates concerns about suspicious or inappropriate behavior to supervisor or manager. Maintains on-time departure and route adherence in a safe manner. Physically assists passengers in evacuation of the vehicle in case of emergency. Immediately reports any accident or incident per Company policy. Follows Company Policy around student and/or passenger management. Completes required paperwork (including route change sheets, time cards, vehicle repair requests) in a timely manner. Maintains a neat, professional personal appearance and cooperative attitude with staff, customers, and passengers. Safely and efficiently utilizes vehicle equipment, including wheelchair lifts, radios, and emergency equipment. Per location, may include additional duties for Paratransit drivers. Qualifications
Must be at least 21 years of age (25 years for Tennessee School Bus Drivers as required by state law). Must possess, or be able to obtain, all valid applicable state licenses and certifications to operate company vehicles. Must meet physical and medical requirements and pass substance abuse screening; safety-sensitive employee subject to random screenings. Must satisfactorily complete and pass all training. Must practice defensive driving and maintain safe driving and work habits. Compliance with all applicable federal, state, and program-specific driver requirements.
