High School Math Teacher – Nevada Connections Academy
Nevada Connections Academy (NCA) is a tuition‑free, online public school serving grades 9–12 throughout Nevada. Accredited by the Northwest Accreditation Commission, NCA provides a comprehensive curriculum through an online platform. Position Summary
The certified High School Math Teacher will virtually manage instructional programs. Using telephone, internet and curriculum tools, they will consult regularly with learning coaches and students to ensure that each child successfully completes their instructional program. Responsibilities
Complete all grading, create progress reports, and conduct parent conferences in a timely manner. Support instruction with asynchronous web conferencing sessions and synchronous instruction. Review curriculum and devise alternate approaches to presenting lessons to increase student understanding. Communicate with parents, students, and other teachers to develop and update Personal Learning Plans, score assessments, provide feedback, and coach special projects. Collaborate with other teachers to ensure student progress and distribute tasks. Develop general knowledge of the entire program’s K‑12 curriculum and detailed knowledge of the courses responsible. Provide support and additional assistance with daily assignments and projects. Keep student records and data up-to-date, including cumulative files, online student and family information, attendance accounting, and logging contacts. Consult with learning specialists to develop alternate enrichment activities and modifications to increase student understanding. Coordinate social activities, relevant field trips, and manage regional field trips. Devise and implement virtual methods of creating and maintaining a “school community.” Participate in the organization and administration of state testing and student recruiting marketing events. Work with counselors to ensure appropriate communications and progress toward established goals. Attend field trips and other community activities implemented for families. Other duties as assigned. Qualifications
Highly qualified and certified to teach Math in Nevada (appropriate grade level and content area). Strong technology skills, especially with Microsoft OS and MS Office programs. Excellent oral and written communication skills. Customer‑focused approach. High degree of flexibility and ability to work well in a fast‑paced environment. Team‑player track record. Willingness to travel occasionally for marketing and state testing events (may require overnight travel). Ability to work remotely, if necessary, and some occasional evening hours as needed. Must be able to use a personal electronic device and an email address for two‑step authentication. Salary and Benefits
The anticipated starting salary for Nevada‑based individuals ranges from $40,000 to $54,000 per year with a 100% employer‑funded pension, or $47,800 to $61,800 per year with a 50/50 employer/employee pension contribution.
