Overview

The Longleaf Alliance seeks an experienced Technical Assistance and Training Specialist to advance longleaf pine restoration in the central portion of the natural range (preferred location in Alabama or Northwest Florida). Responsibilities

Provide timely and science-based responses to requests for assistance through phone, email, question line, or site visit. Support landowner incentive programs and deliver the Longleaf Academy program, taking the lead on Academies or providing high-quality instruction in a supporting role. Develop and lead workshops and field days as components of grants; opportunities to collaborate across the nine-state range. Conduct training outreach through brochures, flyers, webinars, and articles for publication (e.g., in The Longleaf Leader or other publications). Demonstrate presentation skills and leadership at Longleaf Alliance events, including the Biennial Longleaf Conferences. Maintain detail-orientation, strong organizational skills, and a demonstrated commitment to the mission and values of The Longleaf Alliance. Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in forestry required; four years of experience in longleaf pine management and restoration required. Advanced degree preferred. Strong passion for the longleaf ecosystem; knowledge of longleaf ecology, forest management, and conservation education. Proven ability to build effective relationships with partners, agencies, landowners, and donors. Initiative, strong organizational and interpersonal skills, and excellent written and verbal communication. Preference given to a registered/certified forester. To Apply
