Positions are part-time, temporary, non-tenure, and contingent upon course offerings, sufficient student enrollment, position clearance and availability of funding. Duties and Responsibilities Courses that may be covered by a Computer Science (CS) lecturer are described in the UH-Hilo catalog:

Prepare course schedule, syllabus, and reports related to teaching and student progress. Work under the supervision of the computer science chairperson. Commitment to principles of higher education and philosophy is essential.
Minimum Qualifications Master’s degree in computer science or in an area closely related to the course(s) taught. Desirable Qualifications PhD in the appropriate subject area. Experience teaching computer science courses at university or community college level. Demonstrated ability to work with effectively with university or college age students.
