The MCG Wellstar Kennestone Campus is based in the Wellstar Health System. The Campus Assistant Dean for Curriculum for the Wellstar Kennestone Campus will be MCG's administrative presence on the Campus. The Campus Assistant Dean will report directly to the Associate Dean for Curriculum and will have administrative reporting responsibilities to the MCG Associate Dean for Regional Campus Coordination, who reports to the MCG Vice Dean for Academic Affairs. Responsibilities

Assume primary responsibility for locally administrating a geographically-separated clinical campus that complies with all LCME expectations. Provide academic administrative oversight for MCG medical students at the Wellstar Kennestone Campus, including all clinical teaching sites and teaching faculty in the Wellstar Health System. Serve as regional coordinator and liaison for student affairs, student research, and voluntary faculty continuous professional development (CPD). Work with the Associate Deans to develop, implement, and assess all clinical teaching experiences for MCG medical students at sites in NW Georgia. Assess and continuously improve the quality of educational experiences at all Wellstar Health System teaching sites based on student evaluations and faculty feedback. Collaborate with MCG, the Georgia AHEC, and hospital affiliates to maintain ongoing medical staff CPD in education skills for voluntary clinical faculty, including the annual Jekyll Island MCG Faculty Development Conference. Liaise with appropriate MCG stakeholders to coordinate the student educational experience in the region and coordinate programming with other regional and 4-year MCG campuses when appropriate. Partner with the Associate Deans and senior leadership to develop, implement, and evaluate high-quality clinical learning experiences. Interact closely with MCG students during rotations in the Wellstar Kennestone Health System, providing or ensuring timely feedback and evaluations, ensuring learning objectives are met and rotations are documented appropriately, in coordination with site Clerkship Directors. Develop and implement student support services aligned with the parent campus for advising, counseling, and health care. Engage in educational scholarship related to development, implementation, and assessment of innovative educational programs. Travel to MCG in Augusta as needed, generally at least bi-monthly, to attend scheduled meetings (in-person or WebEx) including the Curriculum Oversight Committee and Dean's staff meetings. Report annually on regional campus program progress, operating costs, and staffing needs to assist with budget development. Participate in AAMC GRMC activities and other medical education professional development meetings. Required Qualifications

M.D. or D.O.; Ed.D. or Ph.D. terminal degree; academic qualifications necessary for an MCG faculty appointment. Personal commitment to educational excellence and willingness to serve as a faculty role model (teaching, mentoring, faculty development, and educational administration). At least 5 years of experience in academic program administration at an LCME-accredited medical school; curriculum or program development experience preferred. Willingness and capacity to travel to Wellstar Health System teaching sites (average 2 days/week) and to travel to MCG at least bi-monthly. Preferred Qualifications

Strong interpersonal skills and ability to collaborate with dean's staff peers, full-time and community-based faculty. Ability to multi-task across on-campus and off-site venues; strong verbal/written communication skills for focused leadership reporting. Ability to collect and manage data to track site development and performance outcomes; strong team-building and conflict resolution skills. Strategically prioritize resources for program support through participation in budget processes. Shift/Salary/Benefits

This position is fiscal year-based and works year-round. The intended work commitment is full-time (1.0 FTE). Salary and compensation are commensurate with education, experience, and achievements and subject to fund availability. Eligible full-time employees may qualify for the Tuition Assistance Program after six months of employment. Rank and salary are determined at hire based on experience, education, credentials, and market data. Location
