Responsibilities

Provide best-in-class guest service: promptly greet guests; respond to guest questions/concerns quickly, effectively, and courteously; assist guests with meeting their video gaming needs; inform guests of special promotions; recommend additional items as appropriate; apply all selling behaviors during every transaction and thank every guest for shopping at GameStop; prioritize guests over tasks and demonstrate that commitment by circulating throughout the store. Support the total shopping environment, including visual and operational elements, current sales initiatives, and the guest relationships that lead to sales and repeat business. Promptly and accurately process guest purchases/return transactions using Point-of-Sale (POS) system; provide correct changes, bag merchandise, give receipts, and ensure top-notch guest service. Respond to guest comments or questions in person or on the phone; answer calls promptly, courteously, and professionally; escalate customer issues and complaints to the Store Manager when appropriate. Promote GameStop’s guest benefits, e.g., new title reservations program, trade-in program, and Pro Rewards guest loyalty program. Assist the Store Manager with setting guest service expectations for store associates and training store associates in all aspects of their job responsibilities, policies, procedures, practices, and guidelines. Observe associate performance, provide timely feedback to the Store Manager, and address unsatisfactory performance as directed, ensuring alignment with company and store guest service expectations. Provide recognition and feedback to store associates concerning performance; input written feedback into Workday / HR system in partnership with the Store Manager. Ensure onboarding and training for all store associates prior to opening or closing shifts; associates should know all aspects of their jobs, including policies, inventory control and loss prevention practices, safety, financial protocol, and ethical responsibilities. Schedule store associates following guidelines; supervise staffing to maintain optimal guest service; adhere to opening and closing procedures. Approve payroll, manage paid time off, and verify time worked. Maintain store cleanliness, organization, and merchandising per company guidelines; ensure fixtures and equipment are in proper working order. Ensure Omni-Channel orders are fulfilled and shipped daily. Protect company assets through inventory control and loss prevention; conduct bag checks at closing as appropriate; communicate concerns to the Store Manager. Support the store team in meeting sales, profit, and shrink goals and complete administrative duties. Perform store inventory counts, restock merchandise, and organize products to be represented and easily found on the sales floor. Count, balance, and reconcile daily transactions in the POS system; complete closeout paperwork and bank deposits according to guidelines. Verify shipments for discrepancies and conduct inventories; communicate discrepancies to management. Process defectives/recalls and stock pulls; label boxes and packing lists accurately. Maintain guest and associate safety; address hazardous situations and report injuries per guidelines. Maintain store records/files; ensure manuals are up to date. Supervise and delegate tasks to Sales Associates and Retail Keyholders in the absence of the Store Manager. Adhere to all company policies and procedures, including the Associate Handbook and Code of Standards, Ethics & Conduct. Adhere to opening and closing procedures. Qualifications

Must provide proof of identity and eligibility to legally work in the United States. Must be at least 18 years old. High school diploma or equivalent required; associate’s or bachelor’s degree in business, marketing, merchandising, or related field preferred. At least 6 months of retail management experience preferred. At least 2 years of retail sales, guest service, and/or management experience preferred. Video game knowledge preferred. Outgoing and welcoming personality with strong people skills. Provide genuine and individualized assistance to every guest during every visit. Clear verbal and written communication, and listening skills in English; bilingual English/Spanish preferred. Ability to work in a fast-paced, changing environment; work independently and in a team. Meet performance expectations, including attendance, appearance, safety, and respectful workplace. Operate Point-of-Sale (POS) system; basic math and alphabetizing skills. Complete required paperwork properly; follow instructions; perform financial tasks per policy. Flexible schedule including extended hours, nights, weekends, and some holidays (minimum 3 days/week). Manage pressure, adapt to stress, and solve problems creatively while maintaining guest interactions. Reliable and trustworthy; exercise good judgment. Able to work alone; stand/move up to 12 hours per day. Physical ability to bend, stoop, crouch, reach, climb ladders, and lift up to 30 lbs.
