Oxbow Pool and Landscape Contractors is seeking a dedicated and experienced
Landscape Construction Safety Officer/Manager
to lead our safety initiatives and ensure compliance with industry regulations. This role is critical in maintaining a safe work environment by developing, implementing, and overseeing health and safety programs across all project sites. The ideal candidate will be proactive in identifying hazards, conducting training, and fostering a strong culture of safety within the organization. Key Responsibilities: Identify potential hazards on project sites and conduct risk assessments. Develop and enforce safety policies and procedures to comply with OSHA and other regulatory standards. Conduct regular site inspections, audits, and compliance checks to ensure safety measures are in place. Work with project management teams and field employees to develop and implement solutions to safety concerns. Maintain safety documentation, including OSHA 300 logs, incident reports, and training records. Lead safety training sessions, toolbox talks, and emergency response drills for employees and subcontractors. Investigate accidents and near-miss incidents to determine root causes and recommend corrective actions. Ensure proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE) and adherence to safety protocols. Assist in developing and executing emergency response plans. Monitor and maintain employee safety certifications, including OSHA 10 and 30-hour certifications, equipment training, CPR & First Aid, as well as any other applicable trainings. Discipline employees and subcontractors who fail to comply with safety regulations. Stay updated on industry best practices, safety laws, and new safety technologies. Act as a liaison between employees, management, and regulatory agencies on safety-related concerns. Qualifications & Skills: Education:
High School Diploma or equivalent required; a degree in Occupational Safety, Construction Management, or a related field is preferred. Certifications:
OSHA 10 and 30-hour certification required; additional safety certifications (OSHA OTI, CHST, CSP) are a plus. Experience: Minimum of 3-5 years in construction safety management, preferably in landscape or pool construction. Strong knowledge of OSHA regulations and industry safety standards. Ability to conduct safety training and present information effectively. Excellent communication skills in both English and Spanish (preferred). Strong problem-solving and analytical skills. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and safety management software. Ability to climb ladders, access elevated work areas, and navigate construction sites. Valid driver’s license and ability to travel to job sites as needed. BOE- $95,000- $115,000 Medical Vision Life insurance (Group Term & Voluntary Term) Matching 401K Paid Time off
