Summary : An Advanced Practice Provider (APP) functions as part of the interdisciplinary healthcare team in accordance with privileges approved by the credentialing committee to provide high-quality, cost-effective care to patients within the APPs scope of practice in collaboration with a supervising physician. The APP reflects the mission, vision, and values of the organization, and complies with all relevant policies, procedures, guidelines and other regulatory and accreditation standards. Responsibilities

Clinical

— Obtains health and medical history, performs physical assessment, reviews and interprets diagnostic tests/results, develops differential diagnoses, and creates and implements treatment plans including prescribing/ordering evidence-based pharmacological agents in line with departmental guidelines and privileging. Schedules follow-up management, participates in preventive health screening, maintains comprehensive records, and stays current with general and specialty knowledge. Prioritizes work, supports staff to ensure prompt patient flow, maintains high productivity, leads or participates in productivity-improvement projects, and performs medical procedures within departmental guidelines and privileges. Education

— Educates patients and families regarding medical conditions, treatment, and follow-up. Collaborates with clinicians, staff, and students to promote continuity of care. Develops educational materials and provides education to physicians, house staff, nursing, ancillaries and/or students. Pursues self-learning opportunities and attends relevant programs. Leadership

— Provides instruction to physicians, house staff, nursing, ancillaries and/or students (precepting, lectures, training, rounds, CE, etc.). Participates in community or network outreach programs and leads initiatives to improve healthcare delivery and system performance. Professionalism

— Interacts with patients and families and with coworkers in a respectful, courteous, and timely manner. Responds to needs, accepts responsibility, and shares workload with the team. Quality/Research

— Engages in daily quality improvement, collaborates on problem-solving and decision-making, leads interdisciplinary teams, updates protocols to reflect evidence-based changes, influences policy, and develops new clinical programs or services to improve patient care. Qualifications

Education Requirements:

Completion of an accredited graduate-level Advanced Practice Provider (APRN or PA) program. Licensure/Certification Requirements:

Licensed as an Advanced Practice Provider (Nurse Practitioner, Physician Assistant, Certified Nurse Midwife) in North Carolina. Board certification if required by the Department. DEA registration. Professional Experience Requirements:

No prior experience required. Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:

Demonstrated clinical competency, effective leadership, strong interpersonal and communication skills, ability to work independently and collaboratively, strong analytical skills, and capability to document accurately for billing. Details
