Afternoon Preschool Teacher

Job Summary: We are seeking an experienced and energetic Daycare/Preschool Teacher to join our team! You will be responsible for encouraging children’s intellectual, psychological, and physical growth. The ideal candidate is nurturing, patient, and creative. If you have a passion for helping children learn and reach their potential, we want to hear from you! Preschool Teacher must be over 18 years of age. Hours are, 12:30pm-5:30pm (5 hours per day, M-F, part time). 30% of your time will be using our outdoor areas and playground with a small class, great child/teacher ratio, and always having a co teacher. Responsibilities: Plan games and activities that are developmentally appropriate Design a daily and weekly schedule Provide basic care and potty training for those in need Evaluate children to ensure they are reaching developmental milestones Communicate with parents and update them on their children’s activities Prepare monthly activity newsletters with co teacher Create and implement lesson plans with co teacher Apply Montessori principles (training provided) Qualifications: Previous experience as a preschool teacher or childcare provider Must be reliable, on time, have transportation Strong understanding of child development Patient, kind, and nurturing Excellent organizational, communication, and time management skills First aid/CPR certified CDA Teacher Permit or similar preferred Required by the State of CA: 12 ECE Units completed (minimum) or currently in progress at accredited college CPR/First Aid currently card certified Mandated Reporter Certificate (must be current) Immunization Requirements: Current MMR & Pertussis, and flu immunizations TB Clearance (within 1 year) We offer a competitive salary ($18-22 DOE) and benefits, including company parties, dental insurance, employee discounts, opportunity for advancement, paid time off, training & development, and vision insurance.
