Under the direction of the Immunization Services Program Supervisor, the main purpose of this position is to provide assistance to immunization nurses during clinics including prepping for clinic, reviewing immunization records, identifying needed vaccines, providing translation services when needed, and tracking and following up of immunization delayed children (0-4 years) to ensure they are up to date on vaccines. This position will also provide health promotion and disease prevention information to children and adults seeking immunizations. The duties of this position ensure that program participants receive individualized attention and support in their endeavors to take advantage of program and community resources. The employee must have a valid driver’s license, reliable personal vehicle, and be covered by automobile insurance. The position will require working dayshift, evening shift, and weekends as needed, and the ability to stand, walk, bend, and lift 25 lbs. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Education: Graduation from an accredited high school or possession of a high school equivalency certificate. Experience: Two years of experience compiling and maintaining health records. Notes: 1. Candidates may substitute additional experience on a year-for-year basis for the required education. 2. Candidates may substitute U.S. Armed Forces military service experience as a non-commissioned officer in Medical Record classifications or Patient Administration Specialists and Health Services Management specialty codes in the health records management field of work on a year-for-year basis for the required experience. DESIRED OR PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
The desired candidate should possess: Experience working with vaccine and/or medical records Proficient computer skills, including Google Suites Excellent written and verbal communication skills Excellent customer service skills Bilingual SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS
Candidates for this classification must demonstrate the ability to type at a minimum speed of 20 words per minute. SELECTION PROCESS
