General Purpose

The Retail Associate is responsible for ensuring our Customers have a positive shopping experience. The Associate makes eye contact, smiles, and greets all Customers in a courteous and friendly manner, treats fellow Associates with respect, follows company best practice standards, maintains a clean work area, and ensures proper merchandise presentation. The Associate is expected to engage in these tasks during all working hours and may perform a range of functions in all areas of the Store as business needs require. Additional tasks may be requested in specific situations to help achieve Customer service and operational goals. Essential Functions

Understands that safety is the number one priority and practices safe behaviors in everything they do. Maintains a high level of awareness on the sales floor to create a safe and secure shopping environment, keeps egress to emergency exits clear, and reports unsafe conditions or practices to Store Leadership. Treats all Customers and Associates with respect and courtesy; is friendly and professional at all times. Recognizes fellow Associates using Company recognition programs. Assists Customers in any way necessary - is register-trained, assists with merchandise, answers Customer questions politely and knowledgeably, and greets Customers with eye contact, a smile, and a greeting throughout the Store and a thank you at each register transaction. Provides prompt and efficient responses to Customers; responds to Service calls and resolves issues courteously, involving Store Leadership when needed. Represents and supports the Company brand at all times. Performs cleaning tasks (sweeping, mopping, dusting, wiping counters and mirrors, replenishing restroom supplies, disinfecting high-touch areas) to maintain merchandise, customer and Team areas. Maintains a professional appearance and adheres to the Company's dress code. Performs daily sizing and recovery tasks to keep the store neat, clean, organized, and merchandised to standards. Expedites newly received merchandise to the sales floor, merchandises items per monthly guidelines, and maintains merchandise/brand name familiarity within departments to assist Customers. Understands the Loss Prevention program, the Shortage Highway, and merchandise protection standards. Demonstrates integrity and honesty in all interactions; safeguards confidential information, cash, credit card information, and merchandise. Follows MOS policies, including identification, processing, and review/approval of disposals. Follows all policies concerning cash, checks, charge cards, refunds, voids and offline procedures; maintains awareness and accuracy with bankable tenders. Demonstrates urgency to efficiently perform duties and maximizes productivity by following Store best practices. Competencies

Ability to use all Store equipment, including PDTs, registers and PC as required. Ability to stand, walk, and move around the Store up to 100% of working time. Ability to bend, squat, kneel, climb, carry, reach, and stoop; occasional lifting more than 25 pounds. Ability to use janitorial equipment, rolling racks, ladders and other supplies.
