Advance Plumbing & Heating Supply Company is a fourth-generation family owned and operated business, started in 1920. The company previously operated from 2984 Grand River Ave. in Detroit and moved to 150 Parsons St. in Midtown Detroit on October 31, 2016. The new location features the City of Detroit's first Decorative Plumbing Showroom, opened in winter 2018. In 1990, Advance opened a second location in Walled Lake, Michigan with a 5,000-square foot decorative plumbing showroom and a full plumbing and heating parts counter. Advance Plumbing stocks over 13,000 items from pipes, valves and fittings to faucets, sinks, shower products, water heaters and more to serve customers promptly. We pride ourselves on a staff that is extremely knowledgeable and eager to help advance the success of our customers. Through nearly a century of growth and a reputation for excellence, we look forward to working with local plumbers, contractors, designers, and any other entity seeking a premier purchasing experience. Responsibilities
Assist customers who purchase and/or pick up merchandise Collect payment method using the point-of-sale system Maintain quality of products and service while supporting customers with their inquiries Support team members in servicing customers, answering phone calls, stocking merchandise, and pulling orders for delivery Provide alternative suggestions or complementary products beyond the original order Maintains a neat counter area and updates product displays when applicable Apply existing and company provided product knowledge while showcasing competitive advantage of company service Qualifications
Lift up to 50 pounds Excellent problem-solving skills and leadership qualities Be capable of working in a fast-paced environment, in a customer focused role, while having a high attention to detail and speed Possess the drive to identify customer needs, provide profitable solutions while educating on comprehensive product knowledge Basic computer experience such as Microsoft Office, Point-of-Sale and another internal database software Existing mechanical knowledge such as HVAC, plumbing or other relevant experience Benefits
