General Purpose
The Retail Associate is responsible for ensuring our Customers have a positive shopping experience. The Associate makes eye contact, smiles, and greets all Customers in a courteous and friendly manner, treats fellow Associates with respect, follows company best practice standards, maintains a clean work area, and ensures proper merchandise presentation. The Associate may be asked to perform a range of functions in all areas of the Store as business needs require.
Essential Functions
Understands that safety is the number one priority and practices safe behaviors in everything they do. Maintains a high level of awareness on the sales floor to create a safe and secure shopping environment. Keeps egress clear and reports unsafe conditions to Store Leadership. Treats all Customers and Associates with respect and courtesy; is friendly and professional at all times. Recognizes fellow Associates using Company recognition programs. Assists Customers in any way necessary – is register-trained, helps with merchandise, and answers questions in a polite and knowledgeable manner. Greets Customers with eye contact, smiles, and a polite greeting, and thanks customers at checkout. Provides prompt and efficient responses to Customers. Responds to Service calls promptly and escalates to Store Leadership when needed. Represents and supports the Company brand at all times. Performs cleaning tasks (sweeping, mopping, dusting, wiping counters and mirrors) and replenishes restroom supplies to maintain a clean and presentable store. Maintains a professional appearance and adheres to the Company's dress code. Performs daily sizing and recovery to ensure a neat, clean, organized store that is well-maintained and merchandised to standards. Expedites newly received merchandise to the sales floor, merchandises items per monthly guidelines, and maintains brand-name familiarity within departments to assist Customers. Understands the Loss Prevention Awareness program and merchandise protection standards. Safeguards confidential information, cash and credit card information, and merchandise. Follows MOS (Miss Out of Stock) policies and proper processing and disposal approvals. Follows policies and procedures concerning cash, checks, charge cards, refunds, and offline transactions. Maintains accuracy with bankables. Demonstrates urgency to perform duties efficiently and follows Store best practices to minimize steps and touches in workflow.

Qualifications And Special Skills Required
Effectively communicate with Customers, Associates and Store Leadership in a friendly, respectful, cooperative and pleasant manner. Ability to perform basic mathematical calculations commonly used in retail environments.
Physical Requirements/Ada
Ability to use all Store equipment, including PDTs, registers and PC as required. Ability to stand, walk, and move around the Store up to 100% of working time. Ability to bend, squat, kneel, climb, carry, reach, and stoop. Ability to occasionally push, pull and lift more than 25 pounds. Ability to use janitorial equipment, rolling racks, ladders and other supplies. Certain assignments may require other qualifications and skills. Stockroom associates: Ability to regularly push, pull and lift more than 20 pounds.
