Counter Sales
associate, you are the face of the retail store and the go-to person for customers with automotive needs. You don’t need to disassemble vehicles, but a background and knowledge of automotive parts is required. This role is a great opportunity whether you want to build a career as a Parts Specialist, pursue full-/part-time work, or explore other careers with us. What you will be doing
Provide auto parts answers and solutions for retail and wholesale customers in person at the counter or over the phone Use your parts knowledge to assist other NAPA team members with customer questions Provide outstanding customer care and interactions with everyone visiting our NAPA Store Bring customer focus and high energy to our fast-paced stores Welcome retail customers and engage to provide a positive shopping experience Operate technology (computer), cash register, telephone, and paper catalog system This is the right opportunity for you if you
Genuinely enjoy helping customers with auto parts and service questions Have gained parts experience through the automotive industry or by tinkering/repairing cars and trucks Are willing to learn all things automotive if you lack a background in auto parts Want to join a team where you can learn and grow your career What you'll need
Valid Driver's License Experience in a parts store or automotive industry, or willingness to learn High School Diploma or GED; technical/trade school courses or degree are a plus Excellent verbal and written communication skills Ability to thrive in a fast-paced retail environment Strong listening skills and empathy for customers Nice to have (not a deal breaker)
Background or passion for automotive, heavy equipment, farm, diesel, marine, or dealership Experience in a parts store, auction, retail store, auto body/collision Knowledge of cataloging and/or inventory management systems Customer-centric mindset (externally/internally) ASE Certifications What’s in it for you
