Cashier Job Description General Description: The Cashier is the face of The Great Greek to our customers. We are looking for outgoing, professional, and friendly individuals to ensure the best possible experience for each guest. Responsibilities include greeting guests as they walk in, guiding them through the ordering process, and suggestively selling all menu items. Cashiers must efficiently use menu screens to ring up customers correctly. They should communicate well with others and handle themselves professionally in high-stress situations. This position also requires being a team player. Cashiers should proactively perform their duties, making decisions to help attract new customers and convert them into regulars. Job Requirements: Greet all guests warmly Accurate cash handling and credit card procedures Accurate order taking, including repeating orders to customers at the time of order and during food delivery Set up or close down the dining room, restrooms, and patios Answer phones using The Great Greek script and take call-in orders Direct customers inside the restaurant Help pre-bus and clean the dining area during service when not on the register Maintain a clean and sanitary work area as per city health codes Assist with opening and closing duties and restocking supplies Smile, be friendly, and polite Assist the expo whenever possible Explain the menu and suggestively sell to all customers Work weekends with flexible hours Qualifications: Minimum age: 18 years Ability to follow instructions accurately and efficiently Ability to perform well under pressure in a fast-paced environment Reliable transportation Able to lift a minimum of 20 lbs Ability to serve safe food in a clean environment Education Background: None required Schedule/Compensation: Full-time/Part-time, hourly 15-40 hours weekly Work is temporarily remote due to COVID-19
