As an outside fire alarm systems sales representative, you will generate new installation projects for alarm systems through electrical contractors and end users. You will also secure the monitoring/service contract after installation. Prior fire alarm or low voltage sales experience is preferred but not required. Responsibilities
Prospecting and lead generation: Identify and qualify potential customers through various channels including cold calling, networking events, referrals, and online research. Consultative selling: Conduct needs assessments and site evaluations to understand fire protection requirements and tailor solutions. Solution presentation: Prepare and deliver presentations and proposals that showcase product benefits and features. Relationship building: Build relationships with customers, contractors, engineers, property managers, and other decision makers. Quoting and negotiation: Prepare accurate quotes and negotiate terms and pricing to secure profitable contracts while ensuring client satisfaction. Pipeline management: Maintain a well-organized sales pipeline and provide regular updates to management on progress. Industry knowledge: Stay informed about trends, regulations, and technologies in fire protection. Customer service: Provide pre-sale support and ensure smooth transitions during system implementation and ongoing maintenance. Team collaboration: Work with project managers, technicians and customer service to ensure project success. Goal achievement: Meet or exceed sales targets and contribute to revenue growth and market presence. Qualifications
Proven track record in B2B sales, preferably in fire protection and life safety systems. Strong communication, presentation and negotiation skills; ability to build rapport and trust. Technical aptitude and interest in fire alarm systems, codes and regulations. Self-motivated, results-driven; able to work independently and in a team. Prior fire alarm or low voltage sales experience is preferred but not required. Bachelor’s degree in business, marketing, engineering, or related field is preferred. Valid driver’s license and willingness to travel locally as needed. Benefits
Compensation ranges based on experience and performance, from $90K to $170K. Benefits include medical, dental, vision, Aflac, Flexible Spending Account (FSA), company-paid short-term disability and life insurance, company-paid training, 401(k) with company matching, tuition reimbursement, paid holidays and generous paid time off.
