MISSION OF THE POSITION
The Inside Sales position is responsible for generating leads based on ACT’s target industry and/or demographic. This position will build relationships with new and existing customers to increase sales of ACT’s products and services. This role serves as the primary point of contact for all product and service orders and is responsible for providing exceptional service throughout the sales process. Essential Duties
Build and promote strong, long-lasting customer relationships by partnering with them and understanding their needs. Consult with customers via telephone, email, or in person to understand their needs/preferences related to ACT’s products and services. Provide information on product features and services, suggesting options suitable for the customers’ needs. Estimate or quote prices, credit or contract terms, warranties, and delivery dates. Inform customers of companion part requirements and specials to ensure that the customer is exposed to the full product line. Prepare and submit sales contracts for orders. Receive payment from retail customers or obtain credit authorization. Effectively communicate to customers any relevant policies and/or procedures regarding purchases, returns, credit terms, etc. Follow-up on customer orders, seek to resolve any issues that may arise with a customer order, and respond in a timely manner. Establish a strong phone presence by answering all phone calls within three (3) rings. Maintain a friendly and professional communication style while assisting customers on the phone or in-person. Provide ongoing support to current and prospective customers by answering questions, resolving problems, and assisting with purchase decisions. Route qualified opportunities to the appropriate CSR for further development and closure. Present sales, revenue and expenses reports and realistic forecasts to the management team; track sales goals and report results as necessary. Direct and supervise employees engaged in sales, inventory-taking, reconciling cash receipts, or in performing services for customers. Monitor sales activities to ensure that customers receive satisfactory service and quality goods. Source new sales opportunities through inbound lead follow-up and outbound cold calls and emails. Assist the Customer Service Director with developing and executing sales strategies. Search catalogs and/or the computer system for the correct part to meet customers’ needs; enter and manage customer orders, inventory information, and pricing. Inspect returns for condition and completeness; accept those that meet eligibility criteria; issue credit for parts returned, ensuring that the original invoice is available for verification. Review will-call and back-order parts weekly and return to vendors or stock items not picked up; locate out-of-stock parts from outside sources and submit an emergency order if necessary. Maintain customer accounts and records of customer interactions with details of inquiries, complaints, or comments. Retrieve and enter data such as customer orders, branch transfers, inventory information, and pricing in the computer system. Stay informed and educated as to product inventory and applicability; continuously update product knowledge through training and available resources. Manage the office and warehouse to ensure clean and safe environments. Perform all other duties as assigned. Requirements
EDUCATION High school diploma or general education degree (GED) required CERTIFICATIONS & LICENSES N/A EXPERIENCE Proven experience in inside sales, customer service, or a related role; general knowledge of products to be sold; strong sales acumen with the ability to identify customer needs, negotiate effectively, and close sales deals; active listening skills with an ability to anticipate customers’ needs and build lasting relationships; proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite or related software.
