This position focuses on building and maintaining customer relationships to drive sales of lumber and building materials. Key responsibilities include identifying and developing new business opportunities, preparing quotes and proposals, and providing expert advice on materials, pricing, and applications. The role involves frequent customer site visits, tracking project progress, and ensuring timely delivery of products. Success requires strong knowledge of the lumber industry, building processes, and local codes, along with excellent communication, negotiation, and organizational skills. Candidates should be motivated, customer-focused, and adept at managing multiple projects while achieving sales targets. Responsibilities
Develop relationships with existing and potential customers through personal and phone contact, ensuring completion of plan take-offs, bids and quotes, answering questions and solving problems Proactively manage and maintain accurate sales team quote pipeline and order pipeline in BisTrack Prepare and present accurate sales proposals and quotes to prospective or current customers Maximize the number of sales for existing market areas Provide customers with knowledgeable, courteous, and prompt service at all times Research and provide accurate information to customers regarding proper materials and prices as well as technical information regarding application and specifications Perform job-site visits to ensure delivery and timely completion Ensure all projects generate appropriate profit margins to justify sales Coordinate all deliveries and credit pick-ups with yard dispatcher Attend activities and functions as a representative of the company Develop processes to track progress of customers' projects Qualifications
1 - 2 years' experience in sales, new construction and/or commercial projects is preferred Some knowledge of building materials, building process, and local building codes Excellent knowledge of MS Office Highly motivated and target driven with a proven track record in sales Excellent selling, communication and negotiation skills Prioritizing, time management and organizational skills Ability to create and deliver presentations tailored to the audience needs Relationship management skills and openness to feedback Benefits
