Hiner Outdoor Living is a premium design-build firm specializing in outdoor living spaces, water features, patios, decks, and unique gardens. As an Outdoor Living & Landscape Designer, you will lead the creative design process from concept through sale, working closely with clients to design and sell bespoke outdoor living spaces.
Responsibilities
Consult with clients to understand their vision, needs, and budget for outdoor living spaces Conduct site visits and assessments to gather measurements, evaluate conditions, and develop design concepts Create detailed 2D and 3D designs using Structure Studios (VIP 3D or similar) that showcase innovative solutions, materials, and features Present design proposals, budgets, and scope to clients; iterate based on feedback and close sales Prepare takeoffs, material lists, and collaborate with project coordinator and production teams to ensure smooth handoff to construction Stay current on horticulture, landscaping, and outdoor living trends, materials, and plant species; incorporate sustainable and high-end practices Uphold our YARDIST values by delivering exceptional client experiences and supporting team success Qualifications
Degree or certification in landscape design, horticulture, or related field preferred Proficiency in Structure Studios (VIP 3D, VizTerra) or similar 3D design software Strong plant knowledge, horticulture principles, and understanding of outdoor construction Proven sales experience with high-end residential clients; able to communicate value and close deals Excellent verbal and written communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines in a fast-paced environment Valid driver's license and ability to visit project sites around the Colorado Springs area Competitive on-target earnings of $80,000–$120,000+, combining salary and commission Simple IRA retirement plan with company match, paid time off, and full medical, dental, and vision benefits Opportunity to be part of a creative, design-focused team shaping beautiful outdoor living spaces in Colorado
