The Chef is responsible for planning, preparing, and serving meals to residents, staff, and visitors, ensuring sanitation standards and supervising kitchen staff. Responsibilities include menu review, meal preparation according to recipes, food presentation, portion control, food testing, tray inspection, and maintaining departmental records. The role also involves catering special events, cleaning equipment, and adhering to safety policies.
Salary Range:
USD $25.56 per hour
Requirements:
High school diploma or equivalent, Suffolk/Nassau County Food Handler's Certificate or ServSafe Certificate, and preferably completion of a 120-hour Food Service Manager Program
Basic computer skills
At least 2 years of cooking experience in a nursing home or similar setting
