Overview
Aquila's
Fitness Specialist
assists members in safe and effective exercise and performs a wide range of technical exercise and administrative duties in a health/fitness center. This is a fully in-person position in Worcester, MA.
The pay rate is $24.04 per hour, with a 40 hour work week, 8 hours per weekday. The start date for the position is expected to be January 1, 2026. Candidates must be able to work in person 40 hours a week, 8 hours daily, Monday to Friday. There is no weekend work. Work hours are 6 a.m. to 2 p.m., 8 a.m. to 4 p.m.; and 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. on alternating days. The location is Worcester, MA.

Responsibilities Include
Teach group fitness classes
Conduct personal training sessions
Supervise exercise areas
Educate members concerning safe exercise techniques
Perform exercise assessments and prescribe exercise upon American College of Sports Medicine guidelines
Conduct safe and effective assessments including cardiovascular, strength, flexibility and body composition analysis; evaluate and interpret data and identify high risk participants and special populations
Aid members – spotting and equipment usage
Explain all equipment
Ensure the maintenance, cleanliness and safety of all equipment
Adhere to departmental and club policies and procedures
Adhere to client’s policies and procedures
Attend staff meetings
Assist in wellness and fitness promotions and external events
Perform daily administrative duties
Qualifications
B.S. in Kinesiology, Exercise Science or related health/fitness field OR an active NCCA accredited national fitness certification (ACE, NASM, AFAA, ACSM, NCSF, NSCA or other NCCA accredited certification)
Active CPR certification
1+ years experience supervising adults during exercises
All candidates must be able to complete a background check.
