Instructional Coach, Alpha
Salary : $120,000/year USD Location : On-site at one of our campuses: Lake Forest (Orange County), CA; San Francisco, CA; Miami, FL; or New York City, NY. Relocation support available. Mission
Transform the future of reading education. At Alpha, we fuse AI‑powered adaptive tools with expert human instruction to deliver personalized, high‑impact literacy experiences through our groundbreaking 2‑Hour Learning model. What You Will Be Doing
Deliver high‑impact reading workshops that develop foundational skills in phonics, comprehension, and fluency through our adaptive learning model. Design personalized motivational frameworks that boost engagement through gamified literacy milestones tailored to individual learning styles. Analyze performance metrics to continuously refine instruction and surface actionable insights that drive reading breakthroughs. Partner with our engineering team to evaluate and enhance AI literacy tools based on real classroom outcomes and student progression. Develop scalable content systems that create personalized reading pathways for diverse learners across multiple campuses. What You Won’t Be Doing
Following rigid scripted curricula that ignore student data or individual learning needs. Drowning in administrative overhead—no endless lesson planning, grading stacks of papers, or bureaucratic busywork. Managing overcrowded classrooms with insufficient resources to deliver meaningful instruction. Spending your day on behavior management instead of focused, high‑impact reading instruction. Teaching in isolation without the opportunity to shape program development or influence product innovation. Key Responsibilities
Develop a scalable, AI‑enhanced reading program that enables early elementary students to achieve grade‑level proficiency and cultivate a lifelong love of reading. Qualifications
Specialized literacy expertise: Bachelor’s degree with advanced certification in reading instruction (e.g., Orton‑Gillingham, Wilson, or equivalent). Proven intervention success: Minimum 2 years experience delivering small‑group reading interventions to early elementary students with demonstrable outcomes. Instructional autonomy: Demonstrated ability to assess reading levels, create strategic student groupings, and design differentiated instruction without reliance on pre‑written curricula. Tech‑forward mindset: Proficiency with AI/adaptive learning platforms and ability to respond effectively to student behaviors within digital environments. Work authorization: Legal authorization to work in the U.S. without sponsorship. Location commitment: Willingness to work on-site at one of our campuses: Lake Forest (Orange County), CA; San Francisco, CA; Miami, FL; or New York City, NY. About Alpha
Alpha School is on a mission to reshape education with bold AI‑driven learning and unleash student potential. We rewrite educational rules to master core academics in just two hours a day, freeing time for passion‑driven learning. Working with Us
