What You will Do
The National Sales Manager develops, implements, and executes strategic sales plans within the Independent & Travel channels. Directly responsible for the profitable attainment of the annual operating plan including top line sales growth, margin objectives, budget, and inventory management for Baggallini. This person will work closely with the other Sales team members to execute those strategies, as well as to identify and develop specific growth opportunities and new customers.
Specific Responsibilities
Secures, cultivates, and maintains sustainable, profitable, and trusting partnerships with existing, targeted & new accounts.
Pursues identified prospects and creates their own, participating actively in the planning and sales process for new business opportunities.
Builds, evaluates, and leads internal and field sales teams to ensure the effective operation of the function. Team development includes new rep hire and on-boarding, ongoing management to AOP and new customer goals and seasonal product training.
Analyzes market conditions and trends providing fact-based data to support product and pricing decisions, being sensitive to competition and account profit requirements.
Assists in the opening and development of new accounts as required. Works with various internal partners to secure necessary resources.
Provides direction on product assortment, account needs, promotional and marketing opportunities and POS presentation based on account knowledge and competitive challenges.
Develops and effectively manages expense budget including all necessary and anticipated account expenses as well as individual travel and entertainment requirements.
Plans, executes, and attends trade shows specific to territory and channels, supporting all reps and agencies.
Provides ongoing forecasts for financial goals towards AOP and quarterly projections on products and inventory.
Ownership of B2B tool, NuOrder, in driving brand marketing, communications and revenue to achieve goals.
Qualifications
Requires a bachelor’s degree from an accredited university, or equivalent.
Must have solid leadership ability with demonstrated success managing, cultivating, and developing internal and external relationships.
Requires 3+ years of sales management experience in consumer products, with knowledge of specialty and key account retail.
Must be proficient in sales forecasting and managing roll-ups of regional plans. Requires a high degree of comfort analyzing POS data and strong retail math and analysis skills.
Must have outstanding oral & written communication, presentation and listening skills; as well as the ability to act with diplomacy.
Requires a pro-active team player who thrives in a goal-oriented, dynamic, and ever-changing work environment.
Must be able to lead, balance and self-manage multiple simultaneous projects and activities.
Needs to have a strong knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word – Excel – PowerPoint).
Must have flexibility in work schedule, including the ability to work extended hours and weekends at trade shows as needed. Must be able to travel frequently.
