The Southcentral Foundation (SCF) Nurse Practitioner Team Coverage is responsible for providing direct patient care in assigned areas.

Qualifications SCF programs serve a primary population of Alaska Native people affiliated with Cook Inlet Region, Inc. (CIRI), and Alaska Native and American Indian people within SCF’s geographical service area. Employees should have a thorough understanding of the cultures and needs of this population to help achieve SCF’s vision of a Native Community that enjoys physical, mental, emotional, and spiritual wellness, and its mission of working together with the Native Community to achieve wellness through health and related services.

Licensed as a Nurse Practitioner in the State of Alaska.

Current certification by the American Association of Nurse Practitioners (AANP) or American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC).

Meets all requirements to obtain associate medical staff membership and privileges of service.

Basic Life Support (BLS) certification is required. Additional certifications such as ACLS, NRP, ATLS, ALSO, PALS, and others relevant to the scope of practice are required for specialty areas.

Employee Health Requirements Compliance with SCF’s Employee Health Procedure is mandatory. All job-related health screenings and immunizations must be completed prior to the first day of employment. For jobs designated as Health Care Personnel (HCP), documentation of immunizations including MMR, Varicella, Hepatitis B, Influenza, Tdap, and COVID-19 vaccination is required.

Native Preference SCF adheres to a policy of Native preference in hiring, contracting, and training, pursuant to P.L. 93-638, as amended. Certification from SCF Human Resources is required to receive this preference.
