La Rabida Children’s Hospital is hiring a full-time Child & Family Therapist for the Pediatric Psychology department in Chicago, IL. Job Summary: Functions in an independent and professional manner to provide high-quality, trauma-informed behavioral health services to outpatient clients and their families. Essential Child & Family Therapist Functions: Provides short-term and long-term evidence-based behavioral health services to patients and their families, including individual, family, and group therapy Provides behavioral health consultation services in clinics within an integrated health model, for a minimum of 8 hours per week Provides care for patients with presenting symptoms such as behavioral problems, trauma exposure and symptomology, school and learning problems, attention problems, anxiety, depression, as well as others . Has training in and can implement behavioral health interventions such as individual psychotherapy, behavior modification techniques, trauma therapy, family therapy, group therapy, and crisis intervention.Expectations are that 45% of time is in therapy with a minimum of 20 patients (short-term/long-term) scheduled per week . Conducts clinical intake assessments and appropriate diagnoses. Issues and scores scales and measures to evaluate functioning and for diagnostic clarification . Provides case management and advocacy Consults and collaboration with the multidisciplinary health care team to ensure services are integrated into the patient’s treatment . Maintains required job skills, professional competencies, current licensure, certification, and ongoing education required of the job, as applicable .
