Valley Health System is actively recruiting an Oncologist to join the team as Associate Chair for its Oncology Service Line. The Valley Medical Group (VMG) seeks an experienced Hematologic or Medical Oncology leader to serve as Associate Chair, Oncology Services, VMG, and Director, Hematology and Medical Oncology. Valley-Mount Sinai Comprehensive Cancer Care (VMSCCC) is a collaboration between VHS and Mount Sinai Health System (MSHS). Professional services of VMSCCC are provided under VMG. The Associate Chair, Oncology Services, will work closely with the Chair to provide leadership, clinical oversight, and strategic vision for VMSCCC. The role involves developing multi-disciplinary programs of clinical care, research, education, and community outreach; ensuring accreditation; and expanding clinical cancer research. The Associate Chair will be a voting member of the VMG Executive Committee and will serve on TVH Medical Staff Oncology Service Line Executive Committee. As Director, Hematology and Medical Oncology, the role focuses on managing and expanding the QOPI-accredited Hematology and Medical Oncology practice and ensuring high-quality ambulatory and inpatient care. The position may play a key role in developing a Hematology and Medical Oncology fellowship. This role collaborates with VHS, VMG, and TVH leadership. TIME ALLOCATION:

60% administrative, 40% clinical. Responsibilities

Associate Chair, Oncology Services (30% time) Provide medical direction and oversight of Oncology Services within VHS, including VMG practices (Hematology and Medical Oncology, Oncologic Surgery Services, Radiation Oncology) and TVH services (Infusion, Radiation Therapy). Ensure VHS provides cancer care and oncology programs of the highest quality. Contribute to the continued development, modification, and implementation of the Oncology Strategic Plan in collaboration with VMG, TVH, and VHS leadership. Strengthen the relationship of VHS with Mount Sinai Health System, Tisch Cancer Institute, and Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai. Identify strategic opportunities for growth, network expansion, and patient satisfaction improvements. Medical Leadership Participate in the Oncology Service Line Executive Council at The Valley Hospital. Provide overall medical leadership to VMG Oncology Services. Establish relationships with key leaders and support VMG Oncology Services in clinical, education, and research roles. Develop programs focused on quality, patient satisfaction, and service excellence; ensure appropriate office, hospital, and on-call coverage. Ensure oncology treatment aligns with NCCN and other professional guidelines; optimize resource utilization for value-based care. Participate in physician recruitment and collaborate with VMG leadership on staff recruitment. Support VMG Oncology Services staff in meeting duties and participate in annual performance reviews. Promote professional development and optimize AP involvement in clinical care. Foster a culture focused on quality, integrity, teamwork, and appropriate compensation to attract/retain staff. Support multidisciplinary disease-focused care and monitor quality systems, governance, risk, and peer review. Advocate for VMG Oncology Services with VMG and TVH leadership and promptly communicate staff or care issues to the Chair. System Integration Integrate the Oncology Service Line across Valley Health System. Promote collaboration among VMG oncology providers and external partners; participate in ColigoCare CIN. Advance clinical integration across service lines and foster relationships with VMG Chairs and TVH medical staff. Research Seek opportunities to expand clinical and translational oncology research at VHMSCCC. Support development of a clinical research strategy with VHS leadership; collaborate with Tisch Cancer Institute leadership. Graduate Medical Education Collaborate to enhance curriculum and explore establishing a Hematology/Oncology fellowship in collaboration with the DIO. Community/Outreach Plan and deliver cancer-related services to the community, including outreach, screening, education, survivorship, and support programs. Quality Help VMG and TVH meet accrediting standards (CoC, QOPI, ACR, Joint Commission, etc.) and define additional quality metrics as needed. Practice Leadership/Financial Stewardship Lead in developing a consistent patient care experience and participate in cost containment and process improvement initiatives; promote efficient resource use and top-of-licensure practice. Support VMG/TVH compensation planning and KPI development; participate in payor contract negotiation and compliance as applicable. Identify and implement innovative strategies for service line growth and profitability; participate in evaluation of new practices, locations, and services. Director, Hematology and Medical Oncology (40% time) Deliver reliable, cost-effective clinical care within VMG Hematology and Medical Oncology; provide medical leadership to physicians and APPs. Ensure care meets quality standards (QOPI, CoC, Joint Commission) and supports research/clinical trials within the community. Collaborate with practice leadership to ensure optimal APP participation and operational excellence; oversee licensing, credentialing, and compliance with policies. Coordinate with pharmacists and TVH Pharmacy leadership; participate in Oncology Pharmacy & Therapeutics committees. Ensure adequate office, hospital, and on-call coverage; advocate for VMG Heme/Oncology providers; recruit and mentor staff; oversee annual performance reviews. Maintain top-of-license practice within VMG policies and promote professional development of hematologists/medical oncologists. Clinical Duties (40% of time) Provide clinical care, patient education, and documentation; ensure continuity of care and effective care plans. Maintain confidentiality and implement safety protocols; participate in on-call schedules as needed. Identify opportunities to improve processes, reduce costs, and improve patient/customer satisfaction. Complete managed care applications and credentialing; adhere to payor guidelines; maintain Valley-specific CITI training. Organizational/Other Responsibilities Support Valley Health System and VMG mission; communicate effectively; model professionalism; participate in performance improvement and development activities. Engage in broader health system activities as requested by leadership. Working Conditions WORKING CONDITIONS / PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

This position requires sitting, occasional lifting, intermittent standing and walking. Contacts/Customers : Health System, Hospital, Home Care personnel, physicians and staff, and community members. Supervisory Responsibilities : Physicians and other clinical staff within Valley Mount Sinai Comprehensive Cancer Care. Hazards : Normal office hazards. Qualifications
