Simaero is looking for a driven and skilled Simulator Maintenance Engineer who shall be responsible for providing engineering support to ensure the high standard, reliability, serviceability, and fidelity of Full Flight Simulators and other associated training devices.
Mission
This role involves coordination with the Simulator Technical Manager and support to the technical team to ensure that maintenance staffing, training, resourcing, and processes are effectively planned and executed in compliance with applicable regulatory requirements. Key Responsibilities: Ensure regulatory and company standards are met for all training devices, maintaining them in a state of readiness for training use. Oversee and support the technical management of simulator configurations, updates, and modifications, ensuring alignment with internal quality standards and external regulatory obligations. Serve as first-line management support, facilitating coordination among Simulator Engineers and Technicians to ensure timely and effective execution of: Preventive Maintenance (PM) Qualification Test Guides (QTGs) Safety Checks Flyouts and daily readiness Perform and supervise pre-flight readiness checks, including interior simulator housekeeping, in accordance with regulatory procedures and OEM recommendations. Independently plan and conduct preventive and corrective maintenance activities on simulators and training devices, as per approved documentation and manufacturer guidelines. Maintain the hardware and software configuration integrity of devices to ensure performance and simulation fidelity. Propose and implement cost-effective solutions to complex technical issues. Lead troubleshooting and root cause analysis for technical issues across training devices, including handling of Aircraft on Ground (AOG) situations. Execute and evaluate QTG runs, analyze results, and ensure timely maintenance actions based on findings. Implement software and hardware updates/upgrades to maintain device currency and performance. Identify, raise, and track spare part requirements. Ensure efficient inventory management and timely return of defective parts. Maintain clear communication and coordination with: Logistics and inventory teams Training department and instructors Quality team for tracking Discrepancy Reports (DRs) and Missing Malfunction Inoperative (MMI) Issues Maintain accurate logs and maintenance databases for all work performed and parts used in the Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS).
Provide customer support during training operations, including:
Assisting instructors during simulator sessions Addressing pre-/post-training technical issues (missing, malfunctioning, or inoperative systems) Conducting "meet and greet" to ensure session readiness Participate in regular meetings (weekly/fortnightly) with the Quality and Training team for DR/MMI review and updates. Liaise with OEMs for resolution of open DRs and other technical escalations requiring vendor support. Support forecasting and planning of future maintenance needs, including identification of obsolescence risks and opportunities for upgrades. Ensure that all simulator facilities and related infrastructure are maintained to ensure operational continuity and safety standards. Ensure compliance with safety procedures and report any safety-related issues in line with the Safety Management System (SMS).
Profile
Preferred Qualifications
Engineering degree in Electronics / Electrical / IT / Instrumentation / Aeronautical Minimum 5 to 10 of relevant experience in Full Flight Simulator maintenance Strong understanding of FSTD qualification standards (FAA Part 60 / EASA CS-FSTD(A)) Hands-on experience with QTG execution, simulator diagnostics, and configuration management Excellent communication and team coordination skills Willingness to work in shifts and handle emergency technical issues Our doors are always open for new talent
