Job Description
Posted Tuesday, July 8, 2025 at 4:00 AM This position will work full-time for August, September, and October to cover medical leave, then will work part-time, as needed. Job Responsibilities:
Position patients according to standards set by the American College of Radiology. Select appropriate technical factors from technique charges and operate equipment in accordance with prescribed radiation safety practices. Prepare completed mammograms for interpretation in a timely manner, including appropriately identified images and all associated forms and paperwork. Educate patients on BSE, breast cancer, and other related women’s health issues. Review all requisitions/orders for accuracy and applicable clinical information. Ensure all information on the Breast History Form is accurate and complete. Prepare examination room and all equipment in advance according to the patient’s examination and diagnostic needs. Confirm that all mammography files include appropriate labels and ID markers as required by ACR/FDA/MQSA. Input all data into the information system required for exam completion. Perform daily printer checks, record results, and report any abnormalities to the appropriate supervisor. Perform weekly phantom checks and appropriately report discrepancies. Perform equipment monitoring and cleaning to maintain the highest quality environment. Help maintain patient logs and information collection as required for regulatory standards. Perform weekly, monthly, quarterly, and semi-annual QA/QC tests as required. Record inventory needs, as needed, to maintain appropriate supply levels. Assist clerical, billing, and scheduling staff as necessary. Perform other duties as assigned. Education: Meets minimum training hours as designated by the Mammography Quality Standards Act (MQSA). Certified by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) in Radiography and Mammography. Current unrestricted medical imaging license with the West Virginia Medical Imaging & Radiation Therapy Technology Board of Examiners required. Experience: One year of mammography experience in a hospital or medical practice setting preferred.
